With few employees, small businesses may not be able to accomplish as much if not for their relationships with other businesses. The Chamber is an advocate for developing, building and forming partnerships with other Chamber members – together we profit.

The Chamber recently partnered with the City of Ann Arbor, Master Business Recycler and the michigan recycling coalition to put on a special seminar series about how to save your business money through recycling. The seminar provided valuable information about the importance of recycling and great techniques to get your business and co-workers involved. One of the main focuses of the seminar was on starting a recycling program at your organization.
Businesses are always developing ways to attract new customers or clients. While increasing customers or clients is important to the success of a business, the focus should remain on retaining current clients or customers. Studies show that it can cost up to 8 times as much to acquire a new customer or client than to retain an existing one. The goal of the Ann Arbor Gold certificate program was to promote commerce with local companies and organizations. The Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through the complex legal and financial issues.
In 2009, the Chamber is 90 years old, Metzger’s wonderful German Restaurant is 80 years old, and Conlin Travel is 50 years old. All three anniversaries are possible because each organization morphed, changed, evolved in ways inconceivable to their founders.
